The Watercolours + Works on Paper Fair 2-5 February 2012. Level 2 Science Museum, South Kensington, London SW7

Just 6 days until the fair!

Since our fair started in 1999, it has gained a reputation for bringing together friendly and highly knowledgeable art dealers to offer intriguing and beautiful pictures.

The event has been described as a "boutique" art fair, with around 50 stands making it a enjoyable experience for visitors.

Works on offer range from the early 16th Century up the present day. All the pictures are for sale at prices from £100 or less, up to £100,000. Every picture is checked by a committee of Vetting experts.

What will you find at the fair?
Watercolours and drawings: all types of pictures drawn by hand, in ink, pencil, crayon, chalk, pastel, gouache, watercolour or charcoal.
Works on paper: a wider range of original art on paper, including prints, photographs, posters and handmade artists' books.

As well as the pictures for sale, this years fair features a stunning Loan Exhibition of drawings of the moon. At the core of the exhibition are two huge drawings of craters by James Nasmyth (1808-1890), which have never been publicly displayed before. All the pictures in the loan exhibition have been borrowed from the Science Museum's archive collections.

There will also be a small exhibition of original Ronald Searle drawings, as a tribute to this legendary cartoonist, best known for St. Trinian's and Molesworth. Searle died on 30 December 2011, and this will be the first exhibition to be held in his honour following his death. The drawings are being loaned by The Cartoon Museum.

The 2012 fair will be opened at 3pm on Wednesday 1 February by Michael Portillo (please note admission on this day is strictly by advance ticket only).
